Serve

For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...

Mark 10:45

We exist to bring glory to God by making disciple through gospel-centered worship, community, service, and multiplication. This is our mission and process for discipleship. Out of this, gospel-centered service is the overflow of discipleship, serving others outside the church. One of the ways to pursue and live out following Jesus is through volunteer opportunities.

Volunteer Stories

Michelle Ryan

Being a small group leader with teens in TYC is so rewarding! It is more than just the chance to speak truth into the lives of our teens, it is an opportunity for me to build meaningful relationships with young Christians. Their love for God and for one another inspires me to continue to grow in my faith and love for others. Being their small group leader challenges me to draw closer to Christ, so that I can be a better example and teacher. I love that we can learn and grow together around God’s Word!

Ladi Olaleye

My family and I love serving as greeters because we believe it is important to have a welcoming smile when people enter the church. Being a greeter has allowed our family to meet visitors and connect with other members while allowing us the opportunity to serve. People may be coming into church with one thing or another on their mind, perhaps they had a rough morning or an even tougher week; as a greeter, we help to set the atmosphere of joy and preparation to receive God's word as people come in. We enjoy praying for the people and the service, believing that God will be in our midst and minister to each and everyone.
I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord! Psalm 122:1

Volunteer FAQ

How do I volunteer?

To volunteer for an area or to request information about volunteering, send us a quick message using the tool below and one of our staff will be happy to connect with you.  A ministry leader from  the area you are interested in will follow up and schedule a time to meet with you.

How long  do I serve?

Have a conversation with the ministry leader in your area to learn and understand what the area you would like to serve in looks like. We want you to use your gifts as God has given them to you, but we also do not want to burn you out. We want to continually equip you for the work God has called you to.

What do I need to do in order to serve?

You will need to submit three different background checks in accordance with Pennsylvania law, as well as complete the training that will be provided on reporting child abuse . We will walk you through every step to make sure everything goes smoothly. We also cover any fees that accompany these background checks.

What if it doesn't work out?

That's okay! We want you to continue to grow and use your gifts. We want to set you up for success. If you try an area and after talking with your ministry leader feel that this isn't what is best, we will continue to work with you to find the best place for you to serve.

Ready to serve or have questions about serving?

We love to clarify volunteering requirements. Please reach out if you still have questions.  Or if you're ready to sign up, fill out the form below, and one of our staff will follow-up with you shortly.
