God's Household: When Church Becomes Family
What if church isn't a store, club, or entertainment venue—but a family?
This Sunday we explored 1 Timothy 5, where Paul reminds us that God's church functions best when it operates like a family. We're called to treat one another with the love, respect, and permanence that family brings—honoring older members as fathers and mothers, caring for younger ones as brothers and sisters.
The church has a special responsibility to care for widows and those in need, but it starts with us embracing one another. When we see Calvary not as consumers or spectators but as a spiritual family, the gospel becomes visible. Jesus said the world would know we are His disciples by our love for each other (John 13:35).
So here's the challenge: Who's sitting alone near you? Who needs to be welcomed in? Let's lean into this family God has given us—because this is what our world is starving for.
